GMapsPRO 2.0 - RC2
GMapsPRO 2.0 - RC2 is now available for download for subscribers.  This build makes some significant modifications to the internals of the extension to provide greater flexibility and extensibility.  This build is the core extension that I've used on various "custom" projects I've done recently.

New CB/GMapsPRO Plugin now available!

We have just released a version of the CB/GMapsPRO plugin that is compatible with GMapsPRO 2.0.  It is a BETA version.  It provides the same functionality as the previous release of the CB plugin.  It will enable the mapping of a profiles location, nearby profiles and provides geocoding capability for each profile after login.

GMapsPRO RC1 is Now Available

The first RC build is now available for download.  If you are using a BETA version, please upgrade to this build.   This build resolves many of the issues identified with the beta versions and includes various new features from the previous build.  Include are:

  • Joomla SEF support
  • Map Overlays and causing duplicate markers.
  • Ability to combine markers defined in GMaps with your CB profiles
  • Front-end marker submission
  • TAGS that can be used in the templates to dynamically generate links such as to add markers to the component, add markers to a map and toggle on/off the sidebar
  • Popup / Info-windows for Polyline and Polygon markers
  • and more ....

A special thanks to all who have help isolate many of the bugs and to help test -- especially Steve.  I am currently updating the documentation to assist in configuring the extension.  You may email me and I'll send a copy to any subscriber who wishes a early version.  It is a work in progress.

GMapsPRO 2.0 / Community Builder Plugin will be released this weekend!!

GMapsPRO 2.x Test Map Available

I've installed my current test build of GMapsPRO 2.0 for people to see it first hand (only the frontside).  The map I've configured is fairly basic but you can see where I am headed (I believe).   You can see the map by clicking here.

This map demonstrates some features that the current build does not have.  It includes many additional configuration options.  The key feature on this map is the introduction of a "clickable" Polygon.   Check it out and let me know what you think.

A second example has been added that shows the sidebar listing the marker categories.  You can see it by clicking here.

NOTE:  PRO 2.0 Estimated release date is early February.  Available via subscription only.

Looking for a specific feature ... let me know!

I'm in the process of laying out the roadmap for GMapsPRO 2.0.   If there are features you'd like to see, please email me and let me know .   I am open to any possible suggestions people may have; however, that does not guarantee it will be included.  I hope to have a defined roadmap for 2.0 by the end of September.  Your input would be very valuable to me as my use of the extension is pretty basic.   Thanks in advance.

Subscribers ... New Users Manual Available!

Subscribers... I have completed another draft of the users manua for GMapsPRO.   This manual covers GMapsPRO, Community Builder and the GMaps Plugin extensions.  Here you will be able to find informatoin on the various parameters for the plugin, how to configure the GMaps/CB plugin and more detail about the concenpt of the marker offset to ensure CB users do not map to the same location.  In additon, with the 1.0 Beta (which really is stable) build of PRO, you are now capable of creating "view" templates for individual maps.  This doc includes the latest information on the tags you have avaialble when developing your template.

NOTE:  As time is very scarce for me at this time, I plan on releasing the stable build in the next few weeks.  It will not be much different than the build out there today.  Minor changes are the only thing being included.
