Nearby map not working - 2007/11/11 13:48
I have been testing this and I have two users who are within 200 miles. I have set the radius to be 200 in the tab property. But, when one user logs in, the other cannot see the user who is within 200 Miles range...
what am I missing?

When running on debug I think I found a clue...
I see following

Why is it returning 0 when I know there are nearby users?

Could you please email me with some additional details on this (chris (at) firestorm-technologies.com). thanks.
Please double check that fields you've defined in the configuration are named correctly, that you have both a google and yahoo api for the geocoding and that you have added a latitude/longitude and geocoding date fields to your CB installation.
The majority of the time there are issues with the configuration of the plugin.
One final thing, make sure you have defined a privacy column and value. Do not use "1" as the value. Use something like YES or Y.

Is the map not displaying at all or just the nearby users are not showing up? Couple of things to look at are the spelling of your column names in the plugin configuration. THEY MUST MATCH EXACTLY or else an SQL error will occur and the map won't render. Also, you need to make sure your radius is defined large enough to include other users.
I really need a bit more information on your situation. If you have a URL to post, please do and I'll take a look.

yes, its me - again 
apparently i'm running into the same probs, but at least i see ONE marker, which is the users one.
but none of the surrounding users.
i've set the radius to 1000, so they should all show up, dont they?

Few things to look at:
1. Make sure a PRIVACY column has been specified (and a value other than 1 or 0)
2. Double check and make sure that all fields defined within the plugin are spelled correctly
3. Make sure the TAB is published
4. Go edit the TAB and the CLICK SAVE.
Email me your debug outlet so I can see it and we'll go from there.
