Can autocad map (dwg) added in gmap - 2008/01/17 02:19
I am new in maps area. I have an autocad file .dwg of a city map
1) how can I add it on google earth as my map
2) how can I publish it on my joomla-website by using gmap without going to google earth.
The administrator has disabled public write access.

If Autocad and export the map into KML format, you could then use it within GMaps. Once you can get it into the KML, you can also then publish it onto your Joomla site.

"Autodesk has released a beta AutoCAD DWG to Google Earth KML publishing tool. The tool works with AutoCAD 2007, or any AutoCAD 2007-based vertical application including Architectural Desktop 2007, Civil 3D 2007, and Map 3D 2007.
You can download the utility from http://labs.autodesk.com
The published KML files work with both the released version of Google Earth 3, and the beta version Google Earth 4. Materials are not published at this time."

KML support is only in the pro build. As a test, if you wish to send me the KML file (chris@firestorm-technologies.com), I'll create a test map on the pro demo site so you can see it.
