I can tell you what I do.
I use Google Earth to find what I'm looking for (mostly because I need to find addresses or locations outside of the States). I just changed the Lat/Long options under Tools > Options... to Degrees instead of Degrees, Minutes, Seconds.
Another option is to use Google Maps (for those that live in the States, I think is easier) and place the address of what you are looking for. Once the map comes up, hover your mouse on the "Link to this page" link. Look at the status bar on the bottom part of your browser. The Lat/Long is after the &sll=
I'm sure there're probably other and easier ways to get the lat/long, but those are the two methods I use.
