Suggestion: Index table with additional data - 2009/01/02 04:40
Hi.
I want to suggest to make additional fields on marker input form, like phone and fax numbers, email and website field. And ability to show this data formatted in marker pop-up on a map.
And it would be very nice to make index, formatted in table with additional data. See attached image.

My new build which I'm currently working on allows for address fields. I have to look at adding additional "custom" fields. I may go ahead and allow a few other fields like email and website.
Now, the view will all be template based so that you can edit the html to add tags to include the desired fields. Right now, I'm testing the PRO build 2.0 and am trying to resolve a jQuery bug. Then the only item left is to include front-end submission. I will be looking for testers. haha!

Thanks for the picture. What extension is this based on? Also, I like the idea of the marker data below the map. I will add that to my beta build.

Picture is made in Photoshop. It is not example of real extension, just my thoughts.
Unfortunately I don't have subscription on your extension and will not subscribe at this time.
Right now I am looking for best solutions for my needs. I'm not a programmer, but understand a little bit how to tweak existing extensions to meet desirable look. In addition I want to try to make some script myself using Google Maps API and not based on Joomla. Don't know if I can do this, but I will try.
I really would like to test new GMaps version, but I don't have spare money to subscribe.

Two more suggestion:
1) To use options for markers like it is in SVMap component for Joomla. You can assign one or more options to marker (for example you make a map of hotels, some have WiFi, Gym, Air conditioner). Then those assigned options are shown in marker pop-up like icons with tooltip (see picture). Maybe you can use categories for that functionality.
2) Make possible to assign Joomla article to marker. If article is assigned, there is "more information" link that links to article, where you can put more detailed information.
