Welcome to the GMapsPRO 2.x "preview" site. This site is intended to highlight some of the features that will be available with the upcoming release of GMapsPRO. The development of this extension is nearly complete. There are only a few outstanding items that need to be addressed. The goal is to have this released to all subscribers within the next month as a BETA released. Anticipated release date is February 6, 2009. (NOTE: It may be delayed as I will be starting a custom job in the next few days)
The following items are included as part of this build of GMapsPRO:
- Native J! 1.5 support
- SEO Support (not implemented on this site yet)
- WYSIWYG support for Map/Marker descriptions
- Support for Standard, Address, Polyline and Polygon Markers
- Improved Pathway support
- AJAX based retrieval of marker data
- Opening of InfoWindow based on mouseover/click
- Customizable templates for viewing a map
- Customizable toolbar, footing and sidebar areas of a map
- Ability to define unique toolbar, footing per map
- Marker/Category based sidebar content
- Show/Hide markers based on Categories (see demo map)
- Improved marker editor to support drawing of the polyline/polygon markers
- Ability to define the width of the info window
- Panoramio and Traffic Overlay support
- and more ....
I hope to include tighter integration with Community Builder to eliminate the need for CB adapters. That may not occur until after the initial BETA release. There are more things I have in mind for this extension over the next year. Things like integration with JomSocial, radius-based search functionality based on map center, easier method to apply a patch release (without uninstall/install), setting expiration dates of markers and ability to define custom fields are all things I'd like to address (time permitting).
Subscription rates (and length) will change once this extension is released. The subscription rates have not been set yet. If you have a current subscription, no additional fees will be required to access this extension.
As always, I welcome any feedback people may have. THANKS AGAIN for your support.
